Education
It is a well known fact that education is an essential aspect for individual and corporate growth. Magrabi Agriculture is aware of this fact and thus it is a part of its mission statement to invest in Human Resources. This kind of investment includes training in-house, local, or international. The administration is very aware that it is through employees’ growth Magrabi will be very competitive in its business. This training included illiteracy training for the workers and career advancement training for its employees. However, the number of participants was always limited. Therefore, the Fairtrade adoption was a different route to encourage workers to participate in the illiteracy program. The Fairtrade joint body committee agreed on the following programs:

Illiteracy Education: there is a big number of literate workers in the agriculture field; they can neither read nor write. Therefore, the committee agreed on elevating those workers education by using some of the Fairtrade premium in illiteracy training. The program was initiated in 2004 and since then a total of 121 has graduated. With the increasing awareness about the program among workers, the number of participants increases yearly.

Career Advancement Training (CAT):. The joint body committee agreed on career advancement training for those employees who did not complete their education, those who are seeking higher education, or those who are looking for job related training. The committee is now accepting applications for those who are seeking any of these trainings.
